Pick and pack, done carefully
The difference between a good unboxing and a refund request is usually one wrong item in a box.
Pick and pack is the part of fulfilment your customer actually experiences. Everything upstream is invisible to them; the box that arrives is not.
The difference between a repeat customer and a refund request is usually one wrong item, one missing insert, or one box that arrived looking like it had a hard week.
That is why the operation runs on a purpose-built, AI-assisted warehouse system from the first order rather than a spreadsheet retrofitted later. Inventory locations, picking and order verification are all barcode-driven, and the system was built and tested with a software team before it was put in front of a single customer order.
How an order is handled
Pick
Items are picked against the order from barcoded inventory locations, so stock sits in a known place rather than a general pile.
Verify
Every picked item is scanned against the order before anything is sealed. Scan. Verify. Pack.
Pack
Packed to your specification — your materials, your inserts, your presentation.
Dispatch
Labelled and handed to the courier.
The system behind the bench
Most fulfilment at this scale runs on spreadsheets and memory. Parcelo's does not — and the system here is not new either. It was built with a software team and proven over 24,589 orders before Parcelo opened. It is AI-assisted: it holds inventory locations, drives picking, and checks each scanned item against the order before anything is sealed.
The system flags a mismatch rather than relying on someone noticing one. That is the part worth understanding — verification is a step the software enforces, not a habit that holds up on a good day and slips on a busy one.
You will not find an accuracy percentage on this site. Every provider publishes one and almost none of them say where it came from, so the number has stopped meaning anything. What we can tell you is exactly what happens to your order, which is above — and you are welcome to come and watch it happen.
What this costs
Pick and pack is normally charged as a base fee per order plus a smaller fee for each additional item in the same parcel. That structure is standard across the Australian market and we use it too, because it reflects the actual work.
The calculator shows the typical Australian range for both parts so you can sanity-check any quote you receive, including ours.
Common questions
- How do you avoid picking errors?
- Every item is scanned against the order before the parcel is sealed, and the AI-assisted system flags a mismatch rather than relying on someone noticing. We do not publish an accuracy percentage, because a number without a source is not evidence of anything. What we will commit to is the part that actually matters to you: when something does go wrong, you hear it from us rather than from your customer.
- Can you include inserts or gift notes?
- Yes. Tell us what goes in and it goes in.
